Club Information

Hanover Metal Detecting Club meets the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Ashland Rescue Squad located at 201 Duncan Street, Ashland, Virginia 23005. (Park on the street, please.)

We take Extreme pride in our heritage and family values. We currently schedule field trips to Battlefields, Museums, and other Interesting Destinations. We encourage all members to bring their families to these events. The club is composed of, primarily, Civil War enthusiasts but we encourage all artifact hunters and collectors to share your interest with us, whether it is the Civil War, Revolutionary War, bottles, or American Indian Artifacts. If you dug it we would like to see your trophy.

So, if you enjoy spending countless hours in search of whatever type of artifact you collect, we welcome you to come and see what we are all about. We currrently have a cap on membership (85) and if we lose a member, a space will come available for a new member. Come educate someone or learn something new with a club that shares the same passion as you, finding the next artifact.

Membership fees are $20.00 annually. Fees entitle you to the monthly newsletter (The Hub) and many other benefits. We strive to feature guest speakers at our monthly meetings and have enjoyed this added dimension they offer our club members and guests. Monthly meetings also include a Best Dug Relic (since the last meeting) and overall Best Relic competitions, followed by a 50/50 raffle. (One half of this raffle is donated to the Ashland Volunteer Rescue Squad for use of their meeting room.

Hanover Metal Detecting Club has a "seeded" hunt for the members each spring which features an all you can eat cookout. Prizes offered are well worth the cost of the hunt. The cost is $35.00 for members, $40.00 for non members. Children under 16 hunt for free - if in the company and under the supervision of a club member.
